Can I
go underwater or undermine while wearing Centurion
?
Centurion is not designed for prolonged use underwater.
However accidentally if it is immersed underwater
it can still be used effectively for its complete
duration. The apparatus is tested underwater at
a maximum depth of one meter for its effective use.
There is a separate range of breathing apparatus
to be used especially undermines. Filter Self Rescuers
(FSR) and Chemical type Self Oxygen Generators (KO2)
are recommended for this purpose. So it is advisable
not to use Centurion for this purpose.

What is
the difference between a closed circuit breathing
apparatus and open circuit breathing apparatus ?
In Open circuit breathing apparatus ( Centurion)
the exhaled air is released to atmosphere while
in closed circuit breathing apparatus (KO2) the
exhaled air is circulated via chemical regenerator
to the inhalation phase. The closed circuit breathing
apparatus is used in cases where the gases present
in the atmosphere are highly toxic and have high
diffusion coefficient.

How do
I understand that the adsorption capacity of filter
is over ?
There is no visual test or indication to understand
about the adsorption capacity of filters. You need
to be cautious while using the low capacity filters
and should replace the filter before it reaches
its maximum protection time. To get the maximum
protection time from a filter we advice you to keep
the filter always protected from exposure to atmosphere
and open the inlet or outlet cap prior to use only.
If the caps are removed accidentally, immediately
replace the caps tightly and take the weight. If
the weight is more than 2% of the original weight
mentioned, then discard the filter or refer the
“Instructions for Use” page for further
assistance. Since the filters after exposure to
atmospheric moisture losses its effectiveness in
an unpredictable manner the remaining capacity cannot
be determined so it is better to use a fresh canister.

What is
shelf life ?
This is also termed as storage time and it is defined
as the length of time in which a material can be
stored under specified conditions of temperature
and pressure and continue to meet specification
requirements, remaining suitable for its intended
use. The material should be discarded after its
shelf life or contact the manufacturer for further
assistance.

How do
I select particular respiratory protective equipment
?
There are certain broad guidelines for selection
of a particular breathing apparatus suitable and
adequate for given application. However we does
not claim the perfectness of the information
